Have you been working as an energetic or conventional or holistic therapist with an energetic treatment approach as a secondary treatment form for some time? Do you notice that you are increasingly getting clients with a request for help around trauma treatment? Or are you already trained as a trauma therapist and want to add a 100% energetic method to your palette? Then this course is for you.

During this specialization you will become proficient in Trauma Energetics©, developed by William Redpath, colleague and generation peer of Peter Levine and experienced Rolfing therapist and meditator. The emphasis of the method lies on an intimate understanding of the energetic process, beyond the basics, into the depths of the human soul. Unlike Somatic Experiencing, the experience through the body is not the most important entry point (although this is welcome). The method does not rely on catharsis, is non-invasive, and there is no need to talk about a traumatic event or use a picture as a focus.

Trauma Energetics© is based on people’s ability to perceive their own energetic field, even if they are not consciously aware of it. In an interplay of focused attention, you travel with your client through their representation of the trauma or pattern, in the order that the energy field itself determines. You learn to follow, channel, and if necessary redirect the flow, so that blockages are resolved. You do not need to be clairvoyant for this, only patient. The ultimate goal of Trauma Energetics© is the same as the ultimate goal of your own self-healing energetic ability: return to a state of complete freedom and transparency. The state of Being in which the Source, your Source, can shine unhindered through you, from your crown to your feet.

The method can be used with or without other energetic therapy, with or without touch, on site or online. The method can also be combined with psychedelic therapies, because the images and impressions that occur in them can be well handled with Trauma Energetics©.

Trauma Energetics© helps with

• Trauma without ‘pictures’ or clear memories pre-verbal / pre-natal / peri-natal trauma
• Personality and behavioural patterns
• difficulties in trauma treatment due to dissociation / inability to feel
• obstacles to using bodywork according to the tradition of Levine and others
• clients with very small ‘windows of tolerance’ / difficulties with therapy forms that use exposure
• situations where the use of much language is undesirable or difficult due to a limitation or language barrier (Trauma Energetics© is however not completely non-verbal)

Blockages with great resistance can often still be resolved with Trauma Energetics©. Energetic therapy can, if given with sufficient understanding of the pitfalls that exist with trauma, contribute to an important reduction of stress (based on studies). Clients find the course of complaints milder and the complaints can last shorter or be less intense.

An important part of this trajectory is learning as a therapist to perceive the process. There is room for your own level of perception: physical, energetic, or inquiry-driven. In the framework of a solid therapist-client relationship you practice working purposefully with long-standing patterns, reliving experiences, and so-called trauma lenses.

Complementary support of conventional care
To be able to treat trauma safely as an energy therapist in addition to conventional care, it is important that you have sufficient knowledge of trauma treatment, cooperation with conventional care, pitfalls, and red flags. Therefore, three days of this trajectory are dedicated to this topic. After participating in this course, the therapist can play an important role in the client’s care team, with respect for everyone’s worldview and disease concept.

Course Program

On location:

• Six meetings on location
• For practitioners in the Netherlands: three online meetings (‘Insight into Mental Health Care’, ‘Triage’ and ‘Cooperating with Conventional Care’)
• For practitioners outside of the Netherlands, only ‘Triage’ is obligatory
• Two intervision Zoom meetings in the year after certification
• Three sessions with practice clients in your own practice or at home, of which you write a report
• We practice on each other during the course.

Online version: six live meetings and two online days are replaced by 14 shorter online sessions to prevent ‘online fatigue’.

An intake prior to the course is mandatory. You will be engaged with your own and others’ trauma process for six to fourteen weeks in a row. This requires a stable home situation and resilience. During the intake we discuss whether this course is a good idea for you at this moment. Also read the more practical admission requirements below to prepare yourself.

After the training
After completing the training you will receive a certificate, can be listed on the website (if you are registered as a therapist), and can regularly participate in intervision meetings with former students. Also, as long as the founder of the Trauma Energetics© method is still able to, masterclasses are organized regularly (approximately once every two years). This way you can deepen your skills with William Redpath himself.
